Do you represent talent?

We’re Casting Directors, not agents, we do not represent talent. As casting directors, we are hired by clients to match actors to roles.
We work closely with agents to find the best candidates.
If you’re looking for representation, then you need to contact a Talent Agent.

How do I get an agent?

Filmitalia in Italy and Agences Artistiques in France are two great resources for agency information. You can also check this interesting Backstage article for the most prominent international acting agencies.
The Backstage website also provides useful guides to top agencies in New York, Los Angeles, and London.

Can I submit my headshots and resume?

Absolutely. Please send us your bio and a couple of headshots. If you have a reel, please send us a link.
Don’t forget to add your agent contact if you’re represented.
Please do not send videos as attachments or unsolicited WeTransfer emails, we will immediately delete them. hello@thecastingoffice.com

Can I submit material if I don’t have an agent?

Yes. Feel free to email us your headshots, bio, and a link to your showreel if available.
Please do not send videos as attachments or unsolicited WeTransfer emails, we will immediately delete them. hello@thecastingoffice.com

I want to be an actor, how do I get started?

The short answer is to take acting classes, get a professional headshot, and start auditioning.
Keep in mind becoming an actor is not easy but achievable, it requires a lot of ambition, drive, time, hard work, and passion.

Can I get a job as a background extra?

Unless the production is looking for “featured extras” with very specific roles, we normally don’t cast non-speaking roles or background extras.
Extras, also referred to as background actors, are normally booked via specialist extras agencies.
Whether as a hobby or profession, becoming a background actor is a well-paying job if entrusted to experienced agencies.
Below are some resources that may be useful if you want to become an extra:

• how to Become an Extra in a Movie or TV Show – Backstage
• how to Be a Background Actor in a Movie or TV Show – Central Casting

We wish you all the best in your background actor career!

Do you offer internships?

We occasionally offer internship placements in our casting offices in Europe.
Casting Interns will be exposed to all facets of the casting process and will assist casting directors in organizing audition sessions, scheduling, interviewing, and performing other clerical duties.

This is an unpaid position. Please email your resume + cover letter to jobs@thecastingoffice.com

Can I be a reader?

Yes, we often give emerging actors a chance to be a reader during our auditions. It’s an interesting chance to learn about the casting process from behind the scenes, understand how casting choices are made, and learn how to stand out at an audition.
